Day 12

Well,
my damn "time of the month" arrived. Must be all the hormones all whacked out in my body but I am more sluggish than ever. Even with the Daily B12 supplements.
and for some reason I feel very sad. I used to be able to make myself feel better with food and now I can't do that...
I went up a pound on the scale this am. Weigh in tomorrow.
We shall see what results I get all bloated!! Lol

DAY 10

Down another pound this morning.
Julie and I were discussing how quickly we were able to give up on the soda that we once said (just a couple of weeks ago) would be "Impossible"! I haven't had chocolate cravings, but she says that may come when my "time" arrives.
Damn. But there is this tea that Lynne and her spouse gave us a sample of called "Chocolate Hazelnut decaf tea" made by the "STASH" brand in a copper colored box.
IT'S FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!OMG, I DRINK IT ALL DAY.
Went to Target, and that was the Only flavor sold out!!! But I did find it at Fry's and had to buy two!
It's delicious.

Props

I must give a big "Thank you" to my sweet fiance. He grilled lots of chicken and lean steak for me last night to keep me through the next couple of days. I can't grill. No patience, so I turn up the heat and my meat resembles rubber.
Thank you Cory. Love you.
I felt great about yesterday, so I weighed myself before bed and I had gained two lbs! I blame it on the wet hair since I'd just stepped out of the shower. This morning, I was back down 2 lbs.
Phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am doing ok....UNTIL I SAW THE COMMERCIAL FOR "I-HOP ALL YOU CAN EAT PANCAKES ONLY $3.99!" THAT IS MY MOST FAVORITE PLACE FOR PANCAKES IN THE WORLD.
BUT,
"NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS SKINNY FEELS!"

Salsa Chicken

Okay here is another quick and easy recipe:
Salsa Chicken:
Find a salsa ( I found Pace Chunky -all veggies) or make your own (no sugar ect.) and place 4 chicken breast in a plastic storage zip lock bag with 1 -2 cups of salsa and put in the fridge for 2-4 hours or even better overnight.
Take out and Broil or B-que very easy and the chicken turns out with really good flavors and moist!

Lynn
I made this yummy recipe tonight for that sweet tooth!

RECIPE Flank Steak

This is good!! and HCG and South beach Friendly

Ingredients
1 small red onion, quartered
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup capers, drained
2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 pounds flank steak
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
Directions
Sliver one-quarter of the onion and set aside. Chop the rest of the onion. Mix it in a bowl with the vinegar, capers, oregano, and garlic. Combine 1/4 cup of this mixture with the slivered onions and set aside.
Sprinkle both sides of the steak with the salt and pepper; prick well with a fork. In a large zip-top food-storage bag, combine the steak with the remaining onion mixture. Marinate for 1 hour or overnight.
Heat the grill or the broiler, positioning the oven broiler rack so that the meat on the rack in the pan is 4 inches from the heat source. Remove the meat from the marinade, and place on the grill over direct heat or on an oven rack set in the broiler pan. Discard the marinade. Grill or broil for 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.
Place the meat on a platter and pour the reserved onion mixture over the steak.Lynn

HELP, I AM A BORING COOK

I know I will get very easily distracted because I am beginning week Two and don't want to get sick of meat and veggies already.
I am trying to stick with the strict part of phase one for the first two weeks, or until I reach a weight loss of 10-12lbs.
I eat grilled chicken, seasoned with a little sea salt and pepper, and a side of broccoli, seasoned with a little garlic and pepper FOR ALMOST EVERY MEAL.
yUCK and BOOOORING.... LOL
Any suggestions?

Thanks!!!
MIMI
Amazingly, I am not craving any of the sugars I thought just over a week ago I could not live without. I used to drink a 44oz of Coke TWICE a day and thought I would "NEVER BE ABLE TO!" kick the habit. I don't even crave it!!! WTF, something is working right!

THE DRESS

OK,
THIS IS THE DRESS I MUST WEAR FOR THE JUNE WEDDING!
PRAY FOR ME...
I HOPE TO FIND MY WAIST BY THEN...

HCG, WEEK 2, HERE I COME!!!

First week was not easy. I won't even lie and say it is!
However, at the end of week one and at my weigh-in this past Saturday,
I lost "7 lbs and 7 inches".
Svetlana says, "Wow, 3 inches off your butt!"
That lady is adorable.
REASONS I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT:
1) It's a life changing experience and I need to learn NOW, for my sake and my Family's sake to eat better and make better choices.
My children will learn by example!!!!!!!!!!!!

2)I am going to be in one of my Bff's Ashley's wedding this June!!! I am not even exaggerating when I say that the Bride may weigh only about 100lbs! (Sorry if it's less Ash-I am SURE it is!! $%$#@$%@#) The other three bridesmaides are just as small. We have to get fitted for our dresses in about 3 weeks and while the others will be ordering a size 5-6 and 7-8, I would be ordering a dress 4 dress sizes larger than that!
And the color and shape is NOT flattering on a SHORT FAT Girl!!!!! LOL,Only a slender girl who does not have Big Ol'Hips and NO WAIST. Oh, where did my waist go.....?
I will attach a picture of the dress in a moment.
3) One of my oldest best friends (lol-old as in the amount of time we've known eachother-since we were 15!) named January, sent me this quote today and I told her I am stealing it and making it a LIFE MOTTO!!
“Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!”
AMEN TO THAT!!!!
"NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS SKINNY FEELS!"
I am going to be using that alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2ND WEEK

Started a diet called the "Hcg" diet. If you are viewing my post, you are probly on it too. I was a bit nervous about starting this new diet and not knowing what to expect, so I talked one of my BFF's Julie into doing it with me! Thanks Julie! We are able to car-pool, vent via text during the day, and pull eachother out of humps, or longings for things we crave.
We were able to join in on a Saturday group that was beggining their 3rd week. Julie is going to visit a military boyfriend in Maryland next month and wanted to look Smokin' so Lynne was nice enough to work us in.
Our first day, we went on a Sunday and met some really nice folks. One of the gals, Alaina, is a teacher and super funny, and she happens to have a blog about her diet that Lynne shared with us. I really loved reading it. It's good therapy. Thanks Alaina!
This past Saturday, when we arrived at the office for our weigh in after our first week, we met some more nice gals. Julie and I were nervous and they made us feel very welcome. They started talking reciepes and it got me thinking.... "Wow! I don't really cook and these gals have gotten very creative, done their homework and are discussing some Delicious sounding foods!"
It reminded me that once upon a time I tried to start a blog,
ADD=No Focus, and I forgot about it for a while.
But what a great idea to share some recipes while Supporting one another during the process.
Especially those of us who aren't so handy in the kitchen, that is why I relied upon fast food joints to feed my family...and that's horrible!!!!
Thanks for reading my novel... LOL
